Service and maintenance for radiation protection gates
Up to 60 patients are treated per day in a radio therapy, therefore the operators of radio therapies have often complained about the long opening times of radiation protection concrete doors. So far one handicap for faster doors with the average weight of 25 tons had been the fact that they develop too high closing forces during an emergency brake at higher speeds (see background).
With our patented external braking system on our radiation protection concrete high speed door (SL), we can now offer to you
Opening times for the pedestrian passage from 6 seconds and complete opening times from 11 seconds.

Safety Standards for Radiation Protection Doors
In the EEA and Switzerland the application of guide line 2006/42/EC (machinery directive) for power operated doors is mandatory. In order to fulfill the requirements of this machinery directive, we have to comply with the requirements of the Guiding Standard EN 13241 and EN 12453. Standard EN 12453 specifies that the operating forces have to be controlled by force limiting devices below 400 Newton during the first 0,75 seconds and afterwards below 150 Newton. Measurements have proven that all our doors, including our high speed door, fulfill these requirements.
Exceeding the permissible operating forces can, in case of crushing, shearing or bumping of a patient by the moving door, lead to cancellation of your insurance cover.
